Keynote:  Race and Education - Reproducing White Supremacy in Britain

Kalwant Bhopal is Professor of Education and Social Justice as well as the Director of the Centre for Research in Race and Education (CRRE) at the University of Birmingham. 

Professor Bhopal is the author of a number of monographs, including White Privilege: the myth of a post-racial society (2018, Policy Press) and Elite Universities and the Making of Privilege: Exploring Race and Class in Global Educational Economies (with Martin Myers, Routledge, 2023) 

Monique Eckmann

Keynote: Racisms and Antisemitisms in Education. The Challenge of Thinking both Together without Obliterating the Specificities and Specific Experiences 


Monique Eckmann is Professor Emerita in Sociology at the School for Social Work, HES-SO/ University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland, in Geneva.


Her work includes teaching, research, and publication in the field of Conflict and Dialogue in Intergroup Relations, particularly Racisms and Antisemitisms, and the role of Identity and Memory in the Post-National-Socialist and Post-colonial European Context.
